How Intuition & Energy Shaped Vyrao

On Tuesday, our founder, Yasmin Sewell, took to the stage at this year’s Business of Beauty Global Forum in Napa Valley for a talk with Business of Fashion founder and CEO, Imran Amed, where she discussed the profound role of intuition and energy in the shaping of Vyrao.
 
Intuition has guided Yasmin throughout her career, from her time as a fashion and creative director leading innovation at Liberty, Browns, and Farfetch, to her decision to create Vyrao in 2021. “It wasn’t my brain telling me this makes sense,” she told Imran. “It was something else telling me: this feels right. And that feeling is what I’ve lived by my whole life. It’s what’s led me to where I’m at now.”
 
Yasmin’s driving motivation for Vyrao centred around energy, and her long-standing passion for energetic healing. “If energy is the source of everything, which it is, [I wondered] can I build an entire brand based on energy? Could energy be the source of the brand?” she explained.
As Imran pointed out, Yasmin’s approach is a pioneering one. “Why do you think intuition is so undervalued in the business world?” he asked her. To which she replied, “Business thrives on metrics, and intuition doesn’t fit neatly into a spreadsheet or a report. But ironically, some of the biggest breakthroughs come from a gut feeling or an instinct.”
 
But how does one hone one’s intuition? Yasmin has an answer for that too. “Intuition is a bit like training an AI tool,” she said. “The more you listen, the more you trust and the better it gets.” She even created a neuroscience-backed fragrance, The Sixth, to help you connect more deeply with your intuition.
