Your Guide To Sparking More Self-Love

Today – the most love-centric day in the calendar – we want to shine a light on self-love with a little help from Louise Mita, our quantum energist.

Louise Mita supercharges the tiny Herkimer diamond crystals nestled inside every full-sized bottle of Vyrao fragrance, and the steel V-talismans found on the bottom of every Vyrao candle, ensuring the amplification of the product’s energetic intention. Here, in a special Q&A inspired by Georgette, our peppery rose fragrance for self-love, Louise discusses the importance of self-love and how to cultivate more of it.

(Vyrao) In a nutshell, why is self-love so important?

(Louise Mita) As often as we hear “you can’t love anyone else until you love yourself,” it’s actually true. You are the creator of your world: without you, it wouldn’t exist. Therefore you are the most important person in your world, so you’ve gotta love you.

(V) What are the biggest misconceptions about self-love?

(LM) We think it’s selfish or self-centred; we attach guilt to self-love and think we’re being narcissistic. These concepts may come from misinterpreting doctrines of religion, philosophy, traditions and beliefs.

(V) What is your favourite exercise to enhance self-love?

(LM) Going out of my way to be sure I’m at my best. I will get dressed up and put on make-up, jewellery, fix my hair and just stay home. Or challenge my mind with memory games like reciting out loud the first 100 numbers of pi – forwards and backwards – and commending myself for that accomplishment! I’m thrilled that I even care to be my best. I also express gratitude for what I have. Whatever comes to mind is fine: don’t judge yourself for being grateful for your diamond ring or the lucky penny in your pocket. I’m deeply grateful for my healthy mind, body, spirit – and it floods me with love to think about that.

(V) How can you incorporate Georgette into your self-love practice?

(LM) Georgette was created with the intention of evoking love, and is named after Yasmin's beloved grandmother. It engages the specific energy of self-love, infused with a Herkimer diamond’s magnification and a mantra, providing a multi-dimensional vehicle to achieve its goal. I spray Georgette into the heavens and bathe in the cascade of its mist as I say its mantra: “I deeply and completely love and accept myself” – and suddenly, I do…  for Vyrao, where she shares a simple exercise for bolstering self-love in times of need.
